Getting Started

How do I create my first timer?
  1. Open OmniTimer
  2. Tap the "+" (Add) button on the home screen
  3. Choose a preset template or tap "Create Custom"
  4. Add intervals with names and durations
  5. Set repetitions if needed
  6. Choose an icon and color
  7. Tap "Save"

Your timer is now ready to use!

How do I start a timer?
  1. From the home screen, tap on any timer card
  2. Review the intervals in the preview
  3. Tap the "Start" button
  4. The timer will begin counting down

You can pause, resume, or stop anytime during the session.

What are preset templates?

Preset templates are pre-configured timers for common activities:

  • Pomodoro: 25 min work + 5 min break
  • HIIT: 45 sec work + 15 sec rest
  • Tabata: 20 sec work + 10 sec rest
  • Yoga: 5 min sessions

You can use them as-is or customize them to your needs.

Using Timers

How do nested repetitions work?

Nested repetitions allow complex timing patterns:

Example: HIIT Workout

Warm-up: 5 minutes (1×)

Main Set (repeat 3×):           ← Set repetition
  - Sprint: 30 seconds (8×)     ← Interval repetition
  - Rest: 10 seconds (8×)       ← Interval repetition
  - Recovery: 2 minutes (1×)

Cool-down: 5 minutes (1×)

  • Interval repetitions: Repeat individual intervals
  • Set repetitions: Repeat entire groups of intervals
  • Both can be combined for complex patterns
Can I edit a timer while it's running?

No, you cannot edit a timer during an active session. You must stop the current session first, then edit the timer configuration. This prevents accidental changes mid-session.

What happens if I close the app during a timer?

The timer continues running in the background! You'll receive notifications for interval changes and completion. The app uses a background service (Android) to ensure timers keep running even when the app is closed.

Can I skip intervals?

Yes! While a timer is running:

  • Tap "Next" to skip to the next interval
  • Tap "Previous" to go back to the previous interval
  • Your session history will still record the actual intervals completed

Statistics & History

Where can I see my session history?
  1. Go to the "Statistics" tab (graph icon)
  2. You'll see a list of all completed sessions
  3. Tap any session to view details
  4. Filter by date range or timer type
How long is session history kept?

All session history is stored locally on your device and retained indefinitely until you clear app data or uninstall the app.

Can I export my data?

Yes! To export your session data:

  1. Go to SettingsData & Privacy
  2. Tap "Export Data"
  3. Select save location

You can then import this data into spreadsheets or other analytics tools.

What statistics are tracked?

Per timer:

  • Total sessions completed
  • Total time spent
  • Average session duration
  • Completion rate (%)
  • Current streak (consecutive days)
  • Best streak record

Global:

  • All-time sessions completed
  • Total hours tracked
  • Most-used timers
  • Daily/weekly/monthly trends

🔧 Troubleshooting

Installation & Setup

App won't install from Play Store

Possible causes and solutions:

  1. Insufficient storage

    • Free up at least 100 MB of space
    • Go to Settings → Storage → Free up space
  2. Outdated Google Play Services

    • Update Google Play Services
    • Go to Play Store → My apps → Update all
  3. Incompatible device

    • Check device runs Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or newer
    • Some older devices may not support the app
    • At least 2GB of RAM is required
  4. Region restrictions

    • OmniTimer should be available worldwide
    • Try switching to a different Google account
  5. Corrupted cache

    • Clear Google Play Store cache
    • Settings → Apps → Google Play Store → Clear cache
App crashes on startup

Solutions to try:

  1. Force stop and restart

    • Settings → Apps → OmniTimer → Force stop
    • Open the app again
  2. Clear app cache (keeps your data)

    • Settings → Apps → OmniTimer → Clear cache
  3. Update the app

    • Check Play Store for updates
  4. Restart your device

    • Simple reboot often fixes issues
  5. Reinstall the app (last resort)

    • Export your data first if possible
    • Uninstall and reinstall from Play Store

If crashes persist, contact support with your device model and Android version.

Timer Issues

Timer doesn't continue in background

Possible causes:

  1. Battery optimization enabled

    • Go to Settings → Battery → Battery optimization
    • Find OmniTimer and set to "Don't optimize"
  2. Background restrictions

    • Settings → Apps → OmniTimer → Battery
    • Set to "Unrestricted" or "Optimized"
  3. Device-specific power management (Xiaomi, Huawei, Samsung, etc.)

    • Check manufacturer-specific battery settings
    • Add OmniTimer to whitelist/protected apps
  4. Android version limitations

    • Some heavily customized Android versions aggressively kill background apps
    • Check device manufacturer's support documentation
Notifications not appearing

Check these settings:

  1. App notification permissions

    • Settings → Apps → OmniTimer → Notifications
    • Ensure "Show notifications" is ON
  2. Notification categories

    • Within OmniTimer: Settings → Notifications
    • Enable relevant notification types
  3. Do Not Disturb mode

    • Check if DND is enabled
    • Add OmniTimer as an exception if needed
  4. Battery saver mode

    • Some devices disable notifications in battery saver
    • Temporarily disable to test
  5. Android version

    • Ensure you're on Android 8.0+ for best notification support
Timer time is inaccurate

Reasons and fixes:

  1. Device performance issues

    • Close other heavy apps
    • Restart device to free up resources
  2. Battery optimization interfering

    • Disable battery optimization for OmniTimer
    • See "Timer doesn't continue in background" above
  3. System time changed

    • Ensure device time is set correctly
    • Use automatic time (Settings → Date & time)

OmniTimer uses system time and alarm manager for accuracy. If issues persist after trying above, contact support.

Ad Removal Purchase

Purchase not activating

Steps to resolve:

  1. Wait a few minutes

    • Sometimes activation takes 5-10 minutes
    • Close and reopen the app
  2. Check payment status

    • Verify payment confirmation from Stripe
    • Check your credit card statement
  3. Check internet connection

    • Purchase verification requires brief internet access
    • Connect to WiFi and try again
  4. Reinstall the app

    • If you reinstalled, the purchase is tied to the original device
    • You'll need to purchase again on the new installation
  5. Contact support

    • If none of above work, email us at:

      • Include purchase confirmation from Stripe
      • Device model and Android version

Important: Purchases are device-specific and cannot be transferred between devices or restored after reinstalling.

Can't restore purchase on new device

Important: Purchases are device-specific and cannot be restored on new devices.

  • Each purchase is permanently tied to the device where it was made
  • If you switch devices, you'll need to purchase again
  • If you reinstall the app on the same device, you'll need to purchase again
  • There is no multi-device support or purchase transfer
Charged twice or wrong amount

What to do:

  1. Check if it's a hold vs charge

    • Some banks show pending "holds" that aren't actual charges
    • These typically drop off in 3-5 days
  2. Verify amount

    • Correct amount is $6.99 (one-time)
    • Check Stripe receipt for transaction details
  3. Contact support

    • Email arcanumlabsapp@gmail.com with:
      • Purchase confirmation from Stripe
      • Credit card statement showing duplicate charge
      • We'll investigate and coordinate refund if needed

🔐 Privacy & Security

Is my data safe?

Yes! OmniTimer is privacy-first:

  • ✅ All data stored locally on your device
  • No cloud sync (coming in future update)
  • No tracking or analytics
  • No account required to use the app
  • GDPR compliant

During purchases, we only collect minimal device information (hashed device ID) for purchase verification. No email or personal information is collected. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.

What permissions does the app need?

OmniTimer requests minimal permissions:

Permission Purpose
Notifications Alert you of interval changes and completion
Vibration Haptic feedback for timer events
Wakelock Keep screen on during active sessions
Foreground Service Run timers in background

We do not request: - ❌ Location - ❌ Camera - ❌ Contacts - ❌ Storage (except for data export) - ❌ Phone/SMS

Can I delete my data?

Local app data:

  • Settings → Apps → OmniTimer → Clear data
  • Or uninstall the app

Purchase records (backend):

  • Email arcanumlabsapp@gmail.com
  • Request deletion of your purchase data (Note: This removes ability to restore purchases and sebsequently remove ads)
Do you use third-party services?

We use minimal third-party services:

  1. Google Play Billing - For purchases (required by Android)
  2. Google AdMob - For ads in free version
  3. Stripe - Backup payment processor (optional)

We do not use: - ❌ Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics - ❌ Facebook SDK - ❌ Any tracking/advertising SDKs beyond AdMob

� Purchase & Refunds

Can I get a refund?

Refund policy:

Ad removal purchases are handled through Stripe. If you're not satisfied:

  1. Within 48 hours: Email us at arcanumlabsapp@gmail.com

    • Include your purchase confirmation from Stripe
    • We can process a full refund
  2. After 48 hours: Contact us to discuss

    • Exceptional cases considered on individual basis
    • We're reasonable and want you to be happy

Refunds typically process within 5-7 business days.

How do I update my payment information?

The ad removal is a one-time purchase - there's no recurring billing, so no payment information is stored after the transaction completes.

If you need to make another purchase (e.g., for a different device), simply go through the purchase flow again.


🌍 Language & Localization

What languages are supported?

Currently, OmniTimer is available only in English.

Multi-language support is planned for a future release.

Can I help translate?

We're not accepting translations yet, but we'll announce when we're ready to add more languages. Email arcanumlabsapp@gmail.com if you'd like to be notified when translation opportunities become available.
